Yeah, it looks like we’re going to get: night and the city, jeanne dielman, that hamilton woman, lola montes, and breathless in April on Netflix Watch Instantly.
Also Late Spring, The Testament of Dr. Mabuse, Murmur of the Heart, and F for Fake.
Thanks for this thread, btw, very helpful!
Nobody can deny that they would rather just have the DVD itself even if a film is available on Watch Instantly, although I could be wrong.
I’d rather have it on instant. On my TV, HD quality instant > DVD, somehow.
Oh okay, well i only have the option of streaming it on my computer, and in that case I prefer to have the DVD
Charles, for those who have a PS3/360 (and possibly Roku), certain films have the option of being streamed in HD. I assume this option is not available via the PC due to exclusivity agreements.
We wrote up today’s Criterion additions to Netflix Watch Instantly over on CriterionCast.com:
http://criterioncast.com/2010/04/03/netflix-watch-instantly-adds-8-more-criterion-collection-films-this-week-criterion-on-netflix/
We also have a spreadsheet, with links to every Criterion film on Netflix, also noting which are available on Watch Instantly:

Though it’s not a Criterion, Netflix has added Cassavetes’ Minnie and Moskowitz to Watch Instantly. Not sure of the quality, but that’s really cool they were able to snatch that up.
Unfortunately, Criterion’s deal with Netflix is coming to an end on September 22nd.
god dammit.
i’m off in europe with no access to my netflix account for a year, thinking “damn, it’ll be pretty sweet when i go home and can stream me some criterions, yee-haw” and then firing my six-guns into the air while doing kind of an angry joy dance.
well, i can still do that, but for 20 days, i guess. dang
Just as a late update, I launched a site that programmatically keeps a list for all Criterions (and Eclipse, and Criterion Laserdiscs even) available on Netflix streaming: http://streamingcriterions.com/
^ Nice.
@Zac
Hey, thanks for the site.

Just popping in to say I haven’t forgotten about this topic. Just hasn’t been much activity on the Criterion on Instant Watch front. That looks like it is about to change in early April, though, when a number of titles are scheduled to go up.
As always, let me know if there are any titles I miss.
