lately i’ve been really wanted to watch docs but at the moment i’m having trouble finding an interesting one. The last docs i seen were “gimme shelter”, “grey gardens”, “the cove”, and “the thin blue line” which were all great docs. So if anyone can give me some good titles and somewhat of the styles that i mentioned that would be great.

thanks

if you liked grey gardens, you might give “running stumbled” a shot. It’s for free on this site.

How about…

Martin Scorsese’s Personal Journey through American Movies – it’s terrific
Ganges (BBC, preferably on bluray)
Rivers and Tides (about the artist Andy Goldsworthy)
Note By Note (about the making of a Steinway concert grand piano)

i’d suggest all documentary made by werner herzog, so far i’ve seen la soufrier, encounters at the end of the wolrd and grizzly man, and all of them belongs to my favorites, i prefer herzog’s documentary than his fiction films.,
and i seconded “my winnipeg”, surely one of the coolest movie ever

If you like “Gimme Shelter” you might like “The Kids are Alright” which follows The Who up until 1979. My favorite rock and roll movie.

If you like Bukowski (or crazy old drunk men in general) I would suggest “Born Into This.”

If you’re gonna’ get into Herzog I would say that “Lessons of Darkness” is the best of his that I’ve seen. Amazing film.
