D-Back vs. Brewers:
Kennedy vs. Gallardo
Tremendous pitching match-up. In the regular season, Gallardo faced Arizona twice and won both times. Kennedy faced the Brewers once and won.
So if anyone knows of any live streams for the Rangers game, PM me. Forgot that the defending AL champ isn’t important enough to be shown on TV at an hour when everyone isn’t at work….
Theo Epstein is going to GM the Cubs, it appears. Seems like a good idea to me.
Meanwhile the Tigers took one from Texas. The first two games were close despite the walk off GS. They might have a chance to claw back into this thing.
Tough job. The Cubs are a mess right now.
It’s official:

Rangers are in.
What the hell happened to Scherzer, who had been pretty good so far?
At the beginning of the year, I predicted that the Tigers would be a .500 team. They were for most of the season, and then they got some good trade deadline pickups and the Indians fell apart. I have every reason to be happy with this season and to be hopeful that next year will be another good one. Keep Fister, Young, and Peralta.
Also, there’s really no shame in losing to the Rangers. They have an amazing lineup, and if they can get in front of you, their bullpen will close the gate. Haven’t paid attention to the NLCS because I don’t have TBS, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Texas won it this year.
…and boy did my “20 games till the end of the season” prediction turn out to be a major turkey. I thought it would be Philly over Boston. Youch!
This is the year of The Rangers.
I hope so. They’re a really good team and the fans are classy.
We’re humble—this has never happened for us before. It’s not the Cowboys, who were anointed before I was in grade school, it’s the little Rangers, headed up by one of baseball’s best and most respected pitchers, managed by a complete old school character, fielded by a team with the kind of chemistry that can’t be bought.
They’ve earned it and deserve it. Bring it on. If they don’t win it all, I’m still incredibly happy for this team. What a ride it’s been so far.

Ain’t it great? I love the Old School Brother and Nolan’s legendary ass-kicking of a guy half his age.
Wishing the AL Rangers good luck !
Wishing the NL Cardinals bad luck—ha ha ha!
Well, that didn’t work, but the season is starting soon….
Are the Cubs mathematically eliminated yet?
^
We’ll the Mets definitely are. I am fine with it as a fan. Time to just evaluate what you have in guys like Davis, Niese, and Duda and just hope that Tejada and Thole can hold their ground. Also need to decide if you want to keep Wright or deal him and if Daniel Murphy can be an acceptable infielder. Mejia, Harvey, Familia and Wheeler sightings after July would be much appreciated along with actually following through and releasing Bay if he remains as lost at the plate as he has in spring training.
@ Dutch
Someone said that when I team collapses like the Mets did, it takes a generation to recover.
We BoSox fans will have to wait and see….
Cubs bullpen blows it. Meet the new season, same as the old season.
cubbies shoulda bought high on marmol a long time ago… i mean it IS kinda exciting to see someone walk the bases loaded and then strike out the side so many times, but that can only last so long.
Wood looked mighty shaky in the eighth, too.
Looks like I can keep my blood pressure meds in the cabinet today. Valverde won’t be taking the mound today.
Like the new Miami stadium (on TV anyway).
Gonna be a long season – much longer than last year I doubt, but long….
The Red Sox should just play the Twins a hundred times a season. I would feel much better going forward.

It’s the MLB.com free game of the day, too.
^Awesome.
^Yes.I hope the Mariners don’t waste his best years (eg. Ichio).
This is probably the most excited Seattle has been about baseball since 2001. It’s almost sad, really, but when the greatest sports team you’ve ever had is the Seattle Storm…
Every Felix out of the game . This might seem a little obsessive if you’re not a Mariner fan, but if you go to :43, 1:20, 1:55, 2:05, 2:44, 2:55, 3:03, 3:50, 4:02—and then the rest—you’ll see some of the best off-speed pitches in your life.
Odd facts: Tampa Bay has been the victim of 3 of the last 4 perfect games.
The Mariners experienced a perfect game against them this year by Phillip Humber (in a post-game interview, Felix referenced the game, but said the pitcher was “Phillip Hughes”.)

I hope they meet the Yankees for the ALCS.
