Rumble Fish
Youth Without Youth
Rain People
Rumble Fish tends to get mentioned quite a bit these days, which is as it should be; so I suppose I would have to nominate One From the Heart or The Cotton Club. Both films are excellent, and in my opinion rank alongside The Godfather Part II, The Conversation, Apocalypse Now and Rumble Fish as the best work of Coppola’s career.
One from the Heart
I haven’t seen many of his films but I like You’re A Big Boy Now.
Tetro. I guess it may not work for everybody, because I don’t know how it wasn’t hailed widely as one of the best American films of its year.
Captain EO was something, though.
The Rainmaker
One from the Heart
Glad I’m not alone with One from the Heart, love that movie.
Peggy Sue Got Married.
Dementia 13
Marie Antoinette
I don’t think that’s the Coppola that we’re talking about here James; although if it were I would agree with you.
Also, Youth Without Youth
I know, I’m being retarded. Are we kidding ourselves? Coppola cannot be underrated. He’s a household name. He’s mayor of San Francisco practically. Danny Plotnick is underrated.
^^He cannot be underrated, but some of his films can.

Peggy Sue Got Married.
Peggy Sue Got Married.
I didn’t look at it from the “family” point of view… however, if I did, I’d still say One from the Heart (though I have a feeling Roman’s GQ would come pretty close…)
^ *CQ. Damn, there’s an embarrassing typo…
No competition. ‘One From the Heart’ is one of his most endearing films, but is considered a failure because of the unnecessary expense Coppola added to the production costs (he decided to utilize new, state of the art editing equipment where he would be able to watch the dailies immediately through video)… A magical movie, full of life, and one of my favorites from the director
Is “The Conversation” underrated? I think it is a great film but no one ever talks about it.

The Rain People, while imperfect due to him not having fully formed his distinctive voice and also because of budget constraints, remains for me one of the absolutely most lovable, moving and personal films I have ever seen.
Both Youth Without Youth and Tetro. I love those films.
One From The Heart

What do you think is Coppola’s most underrated film?
