Am I the only one who watches movies while chatting on this site?

I sure hope so, because there’s nothing more destructive to the experience of watching great cinema.

FORTRESS is hardly great cinema.

Im watching All this and Heaven Too on TMC.

(I think most people here are purist about how to watch films)

Purists or snobs?

There are certain films that I will fully devote my attention to, especially if it’s by a director I already enjoy, or it’s by a director of wide-acclaim with whom I’m unfamiliar with. No snobbery. Just respect.

It’s not OK to watch an exploitation film and talk to others on-line at the same time? The opposition to this seems like snobbery.

I can’t imagine an argument that would support watching a film at the same time as being online. You’d have to come up with another definition for “watching a film”. If that makes me a snob, I gladly wear the label.

I think there is both purist and snobs. I’m a purist with filmmakers and films I suspect will need my full attention, but I watch films whenever the oportunity presents itself. I’m not above enjoying Pirates of the Caribean or LOTR if it just happens to be playing on TV.

And, of course, I didn’t mean “watching a film online”.

I’m trying to decide Moon, One Day in September (documentary about the Terrorist attack at the Munich Olympics) or one of the 19 dvds I have on a list on things to watch (not really in a mood for serious or Foreign).

I’ll probably just watch Sportscenter.

Guess you’ve never seen a grindhouse movie that is fully interactive and only half the dialogue is audible?

Both, and its for people love to hate movies and condemn everything that has ever been produced or released by hollywood studios or LA-based distributors
