Right back at ya, Bobby. Everyone in the US can catch A CHRISTMAS STORY on TBS for the next 7 hours, continuously. I think it’s a GREAT child performance (should add it to that thread) and a really great, simple use of voice-over that is successful from the script stage onwards rather than slapped on to salvage a screwed production (as is the case the majority of the time, it seems).

So I’ve been obsessed with Where the Wild Things Are and it’s a phenomenal film about childhood in my opinion. Please don’t make this an I love/hate Where the Wild Things Are. What I’m asking is what other films succeed in speaking truthfully about childhood? The only other one that comes to mind (which I’m actually in the middle of) is Truffaut’s the 400 Blows.
