I get mine at the library for free.
Good choice: Children of Paradise
What store did you go to, Joe L.?
The only one I know of in Manhattan where you can get a deal like that is the Entertainment Outlet on W. 40 St.
Was that it?
I got my DVDs in J and R electronics at Park Row. Just get off the R train at City Hall and walk across the park and it’s there.
Sixteen Candles, haha.

God bless Manhattan and its beautifully inexpensive retail stores. If it wasn’t for the city, I’d go broke. Oh wait, I am broke because I spent a crap-load of money on a bunch of movies, most of them from Criterion. Well, here’s the list of movies I bought:
Children of Paradise (Marcel Carne, 1945)
The Samurai Trilogy
Laurence Olivier Shakespeare Box Set
Bambi
The whole thing came to $160. At any other retail store, it would have been $250.
I feel pretty damn good and am ready to watch these movies sometime today.
