“There Will Be Blood” and “Magnolia”.
please tell me im not the only one that thought the dark knight was laughably bad
Stalker
The Dark Knight
I hated The Road – ok it was brilliantly shot and the sets were awesome but the ending was so weak and wishy washy and I couldn’t hear what Viggo was saying half the time and found his relationship with his son creepy. Why did the women get such a bad press except for that one right at the end who was just sycophantic – gosh – I really did hate it and couldn’t wait for it to end.
Oh that’s easy. The Pursuit of Happyness.
The Dark Night
Leon – The Professionnal
Any movie Lars Von Trier except Breaking The Wave,
Chicago,
Polanski’s Oliver Twist,
Wu Ji,
The Departed
…
Ooops, I forgot those ones:
Any Baz Lurhman (Moulin Rouge, Romeo + Juliet,…)
The episodes 1, 2 and most of all 3 of Star Wars,
Jackson’s King Kong (well in fact any King Kong),
Adaptation,
The Science of Sleep,
Flight 93,
The Bourne Identity and Supremacy (strangely, I kinda liked the last one)
The Good Sheperd, (… to summarize, any movie with Matt Damon, except Kevin Smith’s and Good Will Hunting)
Any movie with De Niro after 1996,
Paul Haggis’ Crash
Ok, I’ll stop here.
Joe, you make me sad. But to each, his own…
Fahrenheit 9/11.
Make that any Michael Moore “film” in general.
@Deepbluevelvet: regarding which one(s)? Let me guess: Adaptation? The Science of Sleep? Flight 93? Lars Von Trier? Anyway, sorry
but if it can cheer you up, I forgot Fahrenheit 9/11 and Sicko as well ;)
The Departed and Leon, but you’re forgiven.
And that did cheer me up. What’s getting me through all my friends’ praise of Capitalism: A Love Story is that Drew Barrymore’s directorial debut got a higher rating on RottenTomatoes.com =]

Ditto on Requiem for a Dream, and Boondock Saints. I absolutely loath those films.
I hate The Godfather Parts I and II, which is really rare for any man to hate. I also don’t like Gladiator, Memento, or The Wild Bunch, all very popular films. I can’t stand any Quentin Tarantino either, and I know he is one of the most popular directors out there, but his films contain too much violence.
Alexander, I have a question. Did Coppola steal your snack pack growing up and that’s why you don’t like the first two Godfather films?
I’m not trying to be insulting, it’s just I can’t fathom how anyone could hate the Godfather part II.
Mystic river (robbins performance was stunningly bad)
Forrest gump (why??)
Crash (unrealistic, unbelievable and contrived)
Goodfellas (yes, that one)
Juno (just contrived, self-consciously quirky nonsense – the female lead character is hateful and Cera makes me cringe)
The Darjeeling unlimited (almost unwatchable)
Kill bill pt. I (i didn’t bother with part 2)
A Beautiful Mind (i made the colossal error of going to see the movie about a month after i read the book which i enjoyed and was still fresh in my memory)
Breathless (godard) so overrated to me
Blow up (antonioni) ditto on being overrated
Superbad. (jonah hill’s idea of comedy is to just scream and Cera has the acting range of a twig)
Troy (an achievement of such over-the-top mediocrity that i was actually impressed. Orlando Bloom could have been replaced with a small piece of human shit every time he was on screen and there wouldn’t have been much of a difference)
Good Morning England – a nice topic, a great soundtrack, good actors, and in the end a complete disgrace.
OH YEAH.
I forgot how much I hate Forrest Gump.
Forrest Gump is the Angel of Death.

Well…to be perfectly honest. I can’t stand Ozu. Which may seem contradictory to my love of Jarmusch, but that’s the way it goes. I also loved Il Posto, but hate most Italian Neo-realism. Particularly The Bicycle Thieves. On a more contemporary note, I absolutely loathed, in every way possible, down the the last frame, (500) Days of Summer. Shamelessly wretched.
i hated a clockwork orange and i will never know why, since i loved the book (minus chapter 21st)
i hated crash, obviously, because it is the worst piece of shit to have ever been produced and it beat brokeback
i hated moulin rouge, passionately
i HATE fucking finding nemo.
i hate gone baby gone.
conversly, i love shitty movies, like juno and other horribly cliched teenage comedies.
Punch Drunk Love
Across The Universe!
2001
Amadeus
Andrei Rublev
Blow
A Clockwork Orange
Dirty Dancing
Gunga Din
Everything Is Illuminated
Lost In Translation
Mrs. Doubtfire
The Shining
Transsiberian
The Royal Tenenbaums
Ozu’s Good Morning
House of Games – Why the hell did this get a Criterion release? $1 bargain bins are to good for this.
Pulp Fiction – Always hated it.
Stand by Me – Don’t really hate it, but thought it was rather sappy and mediocre.
Punch Drunk Love
Eternal Sunshine
Missy: Do people like Across the Universe? Ugh.
Citizen Kane – Watched half of it and couldn’t stand any more.
Donnie Darko, Magnolia, Flags of Our Fathers (actually just sub all Paul Haggis scripts into there, save perhaps Casino Royale, which was split up over several rewrites)
And when I was in high school everyone loved The Boondock Saints, but even though I’m not even out of college yet the number of people I know who like it has dropped significantly, which pleases me to no end.

…also hates kittens, sunshine, and love…
