Or: Mubi User Actor Obsessions Part II!

Time to let those lusts out again!

Here are mine:

Debbie Harry (in her 30s :P)

Karen O

Neko Case

Alexis Krauss

(Let’s call it an obsession) Kurt Cobain

Ok. Since you ended it with Cobain I only strongly dislike you for that Debbie Harry comment.

@bijou alexanderplatz: (groan) :( It has started again…(Are we still friends?)

^ Is the first GIF Sonic Youth?

Yes, we are. As long as you don’t mind the fact that I’m an old, old woman.

And so now this old woman will add some images of the musicians I listened to in the dark ages when I was in high school:

And the bands I listened to throughout college:

^ Smeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeths!

@bijou alexanderplatz: how old are you? if you are:

30+ – I don’t mind
40+ – I don’t mind
50+ – I don’t mind
60+ – I don’t mind
70? – …I don’t mind

Is it really bad that I’m only in lust with Debbie Harry when she was in her 30s? At least I didn’t say again this time my opinions about her appearance nowadays…

To balance it out:

Stevie Nicks

I just have to give you a hard time after that STL! post the other day, Dude. The photos from my high school days should give you a hint on my age. Also, this November I begin a new decade. One of those landmark birthdays, I suppose.

@bijou alexanderplatz: I am not good with the guessing game on someone’s age…I once thought some 25-year-old I knew was 17.

My favorite bands:

Nirvana (forever and always the greatest band EVARR)

Queens of the Stone Age

Husker Du (can’t do umlauts)

Pavement

Blur

R.E.M.

The Stooges

Es todo.

it’s ok dude. i love the stones, but only til around 1981. i really wish they had broken up long ago :p it’s not entirely based on appearance, mostly that they haven’t made a decent album since tattoo you

i loved REM once upon a time too. still have all their old records :’(
when the lyrics became intelligible it was over. lol

What? No Gainsbourg? Pffft.

If you don’t mind me going with a video instead of a photo :

Most romantic song of all-time. Period. For those who can’t understand the lyrics just look at Anna Karina’s eyes, tells you everything you need to know!

@monsieur zom: I’m not obsessed with Gainsbourg, but I do think of him as the greatest French pervert ever!

Hehe, I prefer this kind of “romance” from him…

It’s interesting that Kurt Cobain has made a comeback among the younger generation. Back when I was The Dude’s age, Cobain was my musical obsession (along with Lou Barlow, Thurston Moore, J. Mascis and maybe a few others I forget). I once saw Nirvana three times in three days.

But over the years (from the age of 12 or 13 onwards) the one person who has stayed constant in my affections is:

@The Dude : Aha, he sure is! Histoire de Melody Nelson is amazing, but then again I think I’ve liked everything I’ve heard from Gainsbourg so far, only a handful of albums I’ve haven’t listened yet (and a bunch of soundtracks).

^ It took me years to get into Gainsbourg’s “reggae period”. It still makes me cringe a little but I’ve grown to appreciate it. The rest is brilliant though. Maybe Rock Around the Bunker takes some getting used to as well.
