I like “filmbs”.
If you noticed it ends in bs.
filmbs is funny I like that haha
Haha, so, I helped a friend sign up for a new account, and it still gave the definition and pronunciation of Auteurs.
That and my frequently visited sites Google tab still lists The Auteurs in the top left-hand corner, while MUBI is on the bottom row in the middle.
The internet gods have spoken.
Just read the article. I retract my vote for MUBI.

Actually, I prefer the name of the blog I never update and the podcast I only did a couple of episodes of, “Filmbound”. You guys can have it if you want, but I do demand compensation.
@Laika – Yeah, that “other user” was me — I retracted my vote on this page.

I can’t believe it!! Mubi? What does it mean? The Auteurs means something. MUBI means nothing. Its friendly gobbledygook, simple and infantile, MUBI. Give me a break.
I PREFER THEAUTEURS.COM
Why did they change it? What forces were at work? I wanna know. Surely someone knows.

I can totally understand the need for a name change since the site features many directors who aren’t Auteurs.
And yes I can just about understand choosing a name that does not exclude the site from non-english/french speaking countries.
HOWEVER to choose a name that has absolutey no origin or meaning but chosen on the basis that word ‘movie’ is pronounced ‘mubi’ in many cultures is INANE and INSULTING.
The fact that it took 9 months to come up with is laughable..
