You can find Andrew Sarris’ review in his book “Confessions of a Cultist.”
The films of Samuel Fuller: if you die, I’ll kill you!
By Lisa Dombrowski
Look it up in google books and you can find some box office numbers, reaction, etc….
Yeah, Dombrowski probably has good info, she’s very thorough about Fuller. I remember my former professor mentioning that Fuller always returned at the box office through NAKED KISS…drive-in business, and the budgets for his flicks was, I’m presuming, typically low.
Variety archive?
Thanks a lot guys luckily my school library had both books. Dombrowski’s book had a PHENOMENAL section with everything I was looking for and more! Sarris’ review was pretty good too. Thanks a lot everyone!
FILM IS A BATTLEGROUND also rules. Check it out if they have it. Before the Dombrowski, that was kind of the only thing available for years.

Hello,
I’m writing a paper about Shock Corridor and one of crucial pieces of information is its reception in or around 1963. I can’t find any information about it’s popularity (only that it wasn’t top 14) critically or financially (box office). Does anyone have insight into this and/or have links/sources they can send me to?
Thanks a lot!
