New Godard short film

Can be found through here: http://notebook.theauteurs.com/?p=191.

Possible assumption: what if for films like this, Godard is not using music so much as quotations or references, but for the effect, and the beauty. (There undoubtedly is a second layer which may or may not be a quotation, but I think that that is indeed a second layer and not the first.)

Possible train of thought: if this is true for sound, why not for images? I recognize only one visual quote from this (the still from Rebecca), but does this ignorance matter? I used to think so, but now I’m not so sure.

There is a way to much echo in the voice. I understood almost nothing…

I recognized the shot from Parajanov’s Colour of Pomegranates. Even though I have a very limited understanding of French, I think I understood a good chunk of it. Clearly, the history and a reflection of cinema is his focus here, but I’m not too sure of this – it may also be about some sort of rebirth of cinema.

I knew it was a Parajanov, but not which one, thanks for that Eli!
