So you didn’t like Yes? (I guess that’s not too surprising, since I liked it. ;)
But I didn’t think Rage was all that successful—an interesting experiment, though.
(Is Tango Lesson available?)
not sure I thought I watched it on netflix when I had netflix, think it streams, no sure.
She cast Quentin Crisp as Queen Elizabeth and for that she will always remain a hero.
Jane Campion’s real-life daughter will play Nivola’s mistress/Fanning’s best friend in the film.
The film does sound really interesting.
As everyone on here knows, Elle is probably one of my favorite actresses right now and I think she seamlessly weaves between big budget crowd pleasing fair (Super 8, We Bought a Zoo) and “art” films (Somewhere, Bomb). Her sister Dakota isn’t as successful in weaving between big budget films and art films but I digress.
Color me extremely interested :)
She’s one of my faves too.
Sally Potter is a fascinating figure and alway has been. A chapter of my book “Film: The Fron Line — 1984” (Arden Press) is devoted to her.
“Yes” s quite marvelous and this new project sounds teriffic. Especially as the babe-a-licious Alessandro Nivola is in it.
Always looking forward to new work from Potter.
Annette Bening is said to be taking a small role
should help with distribution
Elle Fanning is quite teriffic. Much more accomplished than her sister.
As for Alesandro Nivola, he’s Babe-a-liciousness personified.

I am a huge Sally Potter fan but have not loved a film of hers since The Tango Lesson. Rage was particularly hard to sit through but this new one Bomb, sounds great (from deadline.com)
Elle Fanning and Alessandro Nivola will star in Bomb, the film that was written and will be directed by Orlando helmer Sally Potter. Christopher Shepperd and Andrew Litvin are producing. Fanning plays a teenage rebel who wants to save the world from nuclear annihilation, but as the cold war meets the sexual revolution, it’s her family that threatens to explode. Nivola plays a free thinking, charismatic writer in 1960s London who has a fallout with his teen daughter when he has an affair with her best friend. Said Potter about Fanning: “Elle has a subtlety and range beyond her years. Her unaffected enthusiasm for work is a joy. She can move you to tears and then light up the room with her radiant smile, the perfect presence at the center of this volatile story.” Fanning is repped by One Talent Management, Nivola by CAA.
