re: 10 minutes
Nice to know Guy has been busy !
PS- Is there anyway to embed html links into this forum? My attempt didn’t work.
He rules!
I’m really excited for this and the two minutes looks pretty great. I’m hoping for a full-length feature over the next year or two, but we’ll see.

I think that Maddin is North America’s current Master of CINEMAH—only Terence Davies of Great Britain can touch him at the moment in English language Auteurs! New film should be ground making as it follows in the wake of his masterpiece My Winnipeg!
I’m waiting for a Winnipeg DVD release and for his next feature. Anyone got the scoop?
Thxx for the linkage, Joshua W.
No clue on his feature, but in Canada the My Winnipeg DVD has been released for months and months.
Met Maddin in June. He had no idea if they would ever release My Winnipeg in the US. He said to just get it off of Amazon.ca
Interesting. I heard IFC was going to release My Winnipeg on DVD; seemingly that’s not the case.

Love The Guy!
Probably the most gifted filmmaker working today. Truly a genius.

Guy Maddin’s latest short film will have its world premiere at 2009 Toronto International Film Festival. The film follows a Bosnian immigrant who harnesses the power of Aurora Borealis (aka northern lights) and uses the northern lights to broadcast imagery coast to coast.

This might be Maddin’s next Heart of the World. Fantastic storytelling possibilities in the northern lights as projector device.
