Jazz, I know what you mean, but if this person knows you even a little bit, they’d understand that of all people, you’re the least likely to be the condescending and well, jerky type.
Many people would just blurt out what they are thinking, but you actually are concerned about how you will come across to another person and are concerned with how they might feel about something and don’t want to hurt their feelings.
I’m sure you’ll find a way to express what you are thinking so that they’ll understand that it’s a differing opinion and you’re not trying to put them down for liking something you don’t care for (or wouldn’t at this time in life).
If they don’t, then they need to deal with being their very sensitive. (hopefully they can eventually)
And btw, I like that you’re considerate that way.
I can’t say that I always am. :) There is a tradition on my father’s side that I seem to have inherited for blurting things out without regard for another person’s feelings, not so much out of wanting to hurt someone, but just not being that aware when the thought is coming out of the mouth.
I’ve learned to quickly apologize. … ooops….

@Odi
Well, just say you don’t find it that way and that’s how you feel about it. You’re just being honest, right?
Right. But you know what I mean about sounding superior and dismissive, right?
@Ari
If it’s a muscle problem, I’d probably go with heat; joint problem, ice. (I don’t recall hearing about people icing their backs, though; usually heat is used.)
@Robert
But what if the problem is that the film or the ideas are just stale—partly because you’ve seen similar treatment or ideas many times before?
