Chargers to take over first place in the NFC West! Hopefully…
DETROIT LIONS!
Today we play a team that we can beat! YES!
ARIZONA CARDINALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ve never had a favorite team, so each season I choose a team and root for them. This year it’s the New Orleans Saints.
GO SAINTS!
Geronimo—you said it, buddy.
Dallas wins.
Sorry, Nohea.
Sorry Nathan, I’m always rooting for Detroit (love dogs), but not today, unbelievable! @TJ GERONIMO -PATRIOTS will destroy JETS this afternoon.
I’m pretty sure the Lions staff works on a game plan to lose during the week.
Strike that! Lions win on the last play of the game! Holy Shit!
What is worse than being a Detroit Lions fan? A Cleveland fan.
Dallas keeps proving how mediocre they are.
Atlanta just can’t win on the road.
What an ugly win, but a win nonetheless. Way to go Big D.
Hey I feel ya Nathan! I was sitting there watching the Lions game thinking to myself, there are so many great movies I could be watching right now but here I am, witnessing yet another disappointing, emotionally numbing loss. Only this time… they didn’t lose! Amazing! That was a refreshing change, and what keeps me hanging on.
ROLL CALL!
d-town boyz, broncos, and frisco 9erz…STAND UP!!
please dont start a college football thread. it will get downright nasty and ugly when i start talking! heres a couple of hints for the real ones: two fingers down (index and pinky); two fingers up (index and middle). ALL DAY, regardless of what the rankings say.
Go VIKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got a fever. And the only perscription is more AFC West leading Chargers!
Browns >
Ok, I haven’t seen highlights, but how the hell did the Bengals lose to the Raiders? WTF?
You poor Browns fans. I’m surprised Mangini isn’t getting death threats.
Congratulations Chargers fans, I think the AFC West is yours to hang onto. Can I assume the Broncs have caved in for the season?
Has this been a great or boring season? The good teams are spectaculr, the bad teams spectacularly so, and the so-so teams have been, well, really so-so. You can rank the whole league GOOD, FAIR, or POOR.
Barring spectacular collpases or comebacks, I’m pretty confident that Vikes, Saints, Cards, Pats, Colts, & Chargers all have their divisions held down. AFC North is Bengals or Steelers, but I think the other team will get an AFC wildcard spot. It’s only the damn NFC East that really looks up in the air still. Everyone else cna have fun waiting for the playoffs, but I (and at least Josh Ryan & Christi2n) have a long season yet (I’m noticing no Eagles fans…)
I’m sorry Nohea. You can wait to see when Jim Zorn will finally get fired…
Poor, poor inept Zorn. The guy just looks lost.
My Boys’ hold on the NFC East isn’t a whole lot to brag about, but a playoff win would be fantastic.
Still, this season is about the Saints and either NE or the Colts.
I’m not saying the Pats are totally done, but I think the “dynasty” is behind them.
I think you’re hanging onto that lead this week, but weeks 13 & 14 should be interesting. Do you get the eagles again too?
EDIT- Why yes you do. Week 17.
Eff the Eagles. Death, Death Death!!!
I’ve always hated your "Boys more than them. Grew up during that 90s run. Lost bets against them 2 SuperBowls in a row. I’d blame the Bills, but I didn’t spend middle & high school surrounded by frontrunners in geographically inappropriate Bills jackets…
I was going to say I don’t hate the Eagles beacuse they’ve always caved in, but now that I think of it, we’ve been the ones choking against them lately. Which (and I hate to admit I’m used to saying this) is kind of embarassing.
Our next six games are gonna be tough, and telling.
Saints, Chargers, Giants again, Philly again, Skins again, and the ding dong Raiders.
Our Decembers have not been good of late, so it will be interesting.
Patriots. I’m a bastard bandwagon jumper (except in the case of film that is ;D).
When I was a kid, decided I should be a fan of lots of teams. Picked (almost at random)
Eagles
Lions
Panthers
Patriots
Saints
Iggles fan here. I’m certainly not impressed by the win last night, but the Eagles are notoriously slow starters, so I’ve got a bit of optimism right now. And Josh, I can’t wait for the rematch in that monstrosity that Jerry Jones built for himself. I think the division title gets settled right then and there.
nfc east is still the best division in football. no one’s ever truly out for the count. and any of the top three can make it to the conference title game with no surprises.
just saw this

^ hilarious, Cutler is a joke.

HA! I love how the ref laughs!
ricky richtoffen
I know we’ve got a few NFL fans around. Hopefully you stop by and run your mouths, obnoxoisuly rep your teams, get accused of frontrunnery, insult towns & players, attempt picks, etc.
If I haven’t yet pestered you about the true American sport, you should know I’m a pretty bad Giants homer. This season hurts.
Now that I’ve got that out of the way, and to try ot put some meat on this thread, I’ll attempt to pick Week 11. I haven’t tried this in years, and would consider myself one-upped if somebody else does so in the future with scores, which you won’t get out of me. I am no Jimmy the Greek, and take no responisbility for your betting. If you don’t care for my ranting but still somehow give a crap who I pick, winners in italics:
EARLY GAMES:
Steelers @ Chiefs- Steelers. No surprises here.
49ers @ Packers: Green Bay. I guess.
Browns @ Lions- here’s one I wish I could watch in my market. I’m going Detroit, on the theory that Eric Mangini has completely demoralized the Browns.
Colts @ Ravens- The ESPN 30 for 30 on Baltimore losing the Colts was fascinating. But Colts have it, and there will be no surprises here either…
Seahawks @ Vikings- OR here. Vikings. (NOTE- I’m a Favre hater)
Redskins @ Cowboys- Dallas wins. The "Skins aren’t 3-6, but man, has owner Dan Snyder made sure they’re the worst suffering fans in the NFL. I’m pretty sure the bag-on-the-head thing or anti-Mara family signs wouldn’t get me thrown out of Giants Stadium…
Falcons @ Giants… where out of sheer bias I’m going to assume they win tomorrow. This starting 5-0 against the dregs of the league (except Dallas, who we really just squeaked by) and then going 0-4 as soon as the schedule picked up crap is embarassing.
Bills @ Jaguars- Jags have it. Poor Bills. Poor T.O.
Saints @ Buccaneers- Saints. WHO DAT? Not the Bucs. I swear, I didn’t realize the schedule was this bad when I thought I’d do NFL picks.
AFTERNOON GAMES:
Cardinals @ Rams- The teams that really suck REALLY suck this year.
Jets @ Patriots-It would be worth it for Jets to win to see Bellichek throw another tantrum.
Bengals @ Raiders- Bengals are for real. It’s fun to see.
Chargers @ Broncos- Might really be good. I’m going Chragers.
NIGHT GAME:
Eagles @ Bears – I’m out of dumb comments.
MONDAY GAME
Titans @ Texans
I’m sure somebody can do this better than me, or at least rip into me well. Somebody, please…
