You went cheapo. No explosions when you open the page, no Megan Fox half-naked for no reason (who dresses like that in high-school?), no giant CGI robots. I’d ask for my money back if I paid anything (actually if I’d paid anything to see the movie I referenced above I’d ask for my money back, too).
Robert Jordan: The Eye of the World (Wheel of Time Series, Vol. 1) – very entertaining and inspiring, and even better than I remembered it to be from 7 years ago, when I read it for the first time.
Jim Crace – The Pesthouse – just started, not sure yet. I loved Crace’s “Being Dead”
Friedrich Dürrenmatt – Der Verdacht (The Quarry or Suspicion / 1953) – pretty good, typical “nihilist” Dürrenmatt crime novel.
David Bordwell – Visual Style in Cinema – great scholarly writing. Informative and entertaining.
Akira Kurosawa – Something Like An Autobiography. – entertaining, insightful and very moving. It’s like reading about human life AND about film. :-)
Other than that I’m currently reading a few books on art history, that I’m not interested in listing here. University can be difficult for a cinephile… ;-)

I’m working my way through the complete works of William Faulkner. I’m on title # 9 at this point in my obsessive digestion of his entire body of work. I won’t bore anyone with listing titles, but yeah…I’m spending this month with Faulkner.
After I finish with him I’ll be gobbling up all of O’Connor, all of Welty and all of Steinbeck.
Uh no, I’m not obsessive….that’s also why I own the complete CC…NOT obsessive or compulsive at all, okay?

I’m reading “The Surgeon of Crowthorne” by Simon Winchester. It’s one of the most fascinating books I’ve read.
My first time through. I’ve been collecting the absolutes as they are released, but got behind in my reading. After finishing the first 2 volumes over a year ago, I started reading III last week. It is easily one of my favourite comics.
