I just rented this from the library yesterday. Plan on watching it today.
Wow, thanks for posting this. I just realized I saw this back in grade school in the late 60’s, probably not too long after it was originally released. Nice memory!
I got this for a friend of mine who’s an art teacher at a Native American school. She showed it to the kids and they’re going to carve their own little canoes and float them on the water now. It’s always tricky to bring a famous children’s book to life but from what I’ve been told (the class read the book as well) the director did a great job of staying true to the spirit and images from the original. I enjoyed the film as much as The Red Balloon and think it was equally impressive from a technical standpoint.
