Pretty funny. I’m not knocking him by saying this but I think his style is clearly based on the late Bill Hicks. If you enjoy this you might want to check him out and also David Cross (another Hicks devotee) if you haven’t yet. Based on this, I think I’ll look at some more Patton Oswalt clips.
Patton Oswalt & David Cross are pretty damn funny, but Bill Hicks is…well, he’s BILL HICKS.
I agree wholeheartedly, Daniel. Incidentally, Russell Crowe mentioned in an interview that he’s planning to play Hicks in an upcoming movie. I still haven’t decided entirely how I feel about that but if it gets Hicks more exposure and causes more people to listen to his albums then I think it would have to be a net gain. I’m just hoping the movie is based on the Cynthia True book American Scream which is an excellent Hicks bio that reads like a movie.
