Who’s shooting what over the summer? I’ve got four features, running from one to five-plus hours, that I plan to have finished by Labor Day. I’ve already got one, a Jonas Mekas-style assemblage of home videos, ready to edit from the last week of April till mid-May. The second, a bromance/road movie inspired by Wenders’ Kings of the Road and the films of Eagle Pennell, will be mostly improv, and will shoot in mid-May and get edited in late May. After that, I’m filming an LGBTQ take on Bertolucci (don’t want to say exactly what type of LGBTQ yet) that will be written with my costar the first week or two of June, shoot the rest of June, and get edited in July. Finally, I’ve got a short feature documentary that I can shoot over one day in July or August, edit some archival footage into for a week after, and voila! My four feature goal for 2012 is met. Guess that leaves Fall for some shorts…
How about y’all?
I have to finish a movie I was supposed to finish over 2 years ago. Woops.
Me! I’m planning to shoot my first legit short; I’ve already assembled my cast and crew, and am still scouting for locations and looking for some sort of funding. When pre-production is done, though, filming will be delayed because of a 3-week vacation in the Philippines. This short, however, relates to a longer short that I hope to finish pre-production and looking for funds for by the end of the summer.
