Journeyman director Michael Apted created this brilliant rock musical for the screen. This track shows David Essex, a great British pop star from the seventies, reaching the zenith of his fame with this cod-opera nonsense, it was all downhill from here (in the film at least). Stardust (1974) and That’ll Be The Day (1973) are two underrated British film classics.
