I’m not sure if I’m willing to say she’s not the greatest rapper to ever live.

The Awesome Linda Rondstadt:

A standout from one of my favorite albums.

Oh Tremolo, I was in my beginning teens when this album came out. Used to listen to it with my girlfriend in her bedroom, of course on LP. Memories…. The late ’70s and that whole new wave/new music thing was awesome.

One of my faves has always been this one:

I love that song! That whole album is filled with really simple yet interesting songs. Sunday Girl, for example, changes keys after the first chorus and then goes from there. I actually have the LP which was a nice find especially considering it was 5 bucks compared to the CD version which was 30! New Wave has always been one of my favorite genre(or whatever it is). So much really fun yet inventive music during that period.

Really love this song from that era.

That was a nice find! The CD was probably pumped up with extras. 30 bucks, crazy. I kind of liked that albums were succinct in those days, not to mention the feeling of holding the album, the lyrics, the album art, the photos of the band. None of which you really get with those dinky CDs.

I have a friend (just a few years older than I) who is a HUGE Devo fan. I’m pretty sure he went to see them, along with another weird band called The Residents. Know them? You know, they eyeball guys.

Yeah, the late ’70s early ’80s were pretty different and iconoclastic.

From what I remember the CD only came with like three music videos and four extra tracks. Definitely not thirty bucks worth of extras. I used to be able to buy Pavement double disc albums with huge booklets for half the price.

I have listened to various Residents songs over the years and I’ve gotta say, I’m not a big fan lol. Some of the stuff is interesting, but it never goes beyond that.

More songs from that era.
