DOWNBYLAW — Ah, Cults! So jealous you saw them. Oh, look…they’re coming to my town on April 11th :)

Oh, you should get tickets. You know you want to! So that show looks like it will be the same line up as I saw in SF. The first opener, Mrs. Magician, didn’t interest me very much. The middle act, Spectrals, I liked alright, and he seemed a good choice for an opener for Cults.

He’s English. Here’s “Get a Grip”:

And then, of course, Cults. We haven’t had their official video for “Abducted” on this thread yet, have we?

Have i posted this before? A rarity, from Under Milk Wood. Singer: Bonnie Tyler. Words: Dylan Thomas. Music: Elton John

Kenji, if you posted it, I didn’t see it. That’s good. So was the whole play set to music like a musical?

DOWNBYLAW — Oh, I definitely want to. I’m gonna try to turn my friends onto Cults and see if they’ll go with me. I may even have to buy them a ticket…we’ll see.

Oh yeah, buy them the ticket. They will owe you big. Are you seeing Band of Skulls on Saturday (7 April)? They are coming to SF Thursday.

Went right over and got the Au Palais EP. Thanks.

Here’s a Canadian band, Little Girls, who named their EP “Cults”. The song is “White Night”:

@ DownbyLaw: No, that Under Milk Wood was a recording for voices (like one before with Richard Burton), with famous Welsh actors, including Anthony Hopkins and Jonathan Pryce as narrators, and singers for a few songs. It was produced by George Martin. I had a cassette years ago which i gave to someone when he was starting out in acting before becoming well known as a doctor in East Enders (most popular British TV soap, for those not aware) for a while.

@Kenji: Is this Welsh theme in honor of a national holiday?

Ha, no, March 1st has gone, i just have little patches when i need to bathe in the land of song

oh and canal boat holidays are so relaxing…it’s a whole different world and timescale.

A narrowboat tour sounds charming.

I like the final verse where she gets all messianic on our ass.

That’s my favorite Concrete Blonde song. If we are doing rabbits, I like Collide’s interpretation of “White Rabbit”:
