double post
@DOWNBYLAW
Yeah, I’ve really enjoyed all the Tiny Desk Concerts you’ve posted here.
The Band in Heaven only have an EP to their name, but they sound really good. Here are two songs from them:
“High Low”
“Sleazy Dreams”
@Josh
So looking up Band in Heaven, I see they are another of the bands we’ve had on this thread who played the Austin Psych Fest this spring. (The lineup for that festival is always so good—I got to seriously think about getting there next year.) Other than Austin, it doesn’t look like they get out of Florida. Anyway, good sound, so I’ll get the EP. Maybe they will come out with an album before too long.

Cannibal – Ennio Morricone & Don Powell (1969)
(From I CANNIBAL (1969) directed by Liliana Cavani)
“The Lions Sleep Tonight” by The Tokens
(right now)
“Pacific Coast Highway” – The Beach Boys
Man I sure would love to go to the Austin Psych Fest. Most of the bands are new discoveries for me, but already I love ’em. Aah, Spindrift—it would be amazing to see them perform…
Texas music you never knew was Texan:
Then we tried to name our babies
But we forgot all the names,
The names we used to know
But sometimes,
We remember our bedrooms
and our parent’s bedrooms
and the bedrooms of our friends
Then we think of our parents…
Well, what the hell happened to them?
Jimmy Webb
Rasabasa – She ♥
Somnambulist, I like that.
Just had the massive pleasure of hearing this for the first time—brilliant music!!
Oh, that’s wonderful, another new single from Purity Ring. I wasn’t expecting anything till their album comes out in, ugh, another month. Looking forward to that and can’t wait to see them in September.
Josh, I’ve never heard the Soundcarriers before either. Good stuff. So it looks like the story behind the name of that song is that they kept getting compared to Broadcast, so they wrote a song “Last Broadcast”.
Did you ever listen to Broadcast?
