Private Video Sharing Websites?

Law

Hello,

I am in the process of editing my 2nd short and would like to share it online with my crew and some other people without making it public for all the world to see yet without having to share the file. Does any such site exist?

According to their help site, Vimeo allows you to choose who views your uploaded videos. Hope that helps.

Wonderful, Vimeo comes widely recommended in my books and I was searching for an option like that before posting this thread but to no avail.

My video is too large. How unfortunate. :\

hmm. Maybe try breaking it up into parts? The only problem is—you can only upload 500 MB a week—at least that’s what it tells me. If you pay for a Vimeo Plus membership, you could upload much more than that.

Vimeo Plus is great! As with anything, could be even better. Def worth the current price. 5GB/ week. Videos seem to play much better. Faster loading. The customization and unlimited options are great!

My friend JUST started a new group to cater to directors. Check it out and upload your clips:

Law, how big is your file? You can put it on a dropbox account and either make it public or give the password only to the people you want. Dropbox is not a video sharing service but you would get a 2GB storage space…

Youtube now lets you upload up to 2gb and you can make your video private

blip.tv is a site I like a lot. If you upgrade your account, it’s not much, you can upload to something like 5gb and place a password on your vid and give out a completely unique viewing password to each person you invite to view.

Thanks everyone for your help previously. I managed to do with Vimeo and find Vimeo pretty great. The other recommendations are oozing with potential though, so non-Vimeo users/Vimeo abstainers might want to check those out.
