Lilies (1996)
The religious overtone in C.R.A.Z.Y. was almost obligatory because religion influenced the society of the province of Quebec tremendously. Lilies is also written by a Québécois author.

Thanks everyone! I’ll try and hunt these down. All new films I never knew about
The more film recommendations the better!

Hey, I just watched C.R.A.Z.Y. the other night and I think the aspect of the film I enjoyed the most were the religious overtones. Films with central gay charcters are usually either too light hearted or self-obsessive to really sink their teeth into the religious aspects of homosexuality. Or at least that seems to be the case with most gay cinema I’ve seen.
So I was wondering if anyone could recommend me (and others interested) any good gay films which either have religion as it’s central theme or atleast as a constant like in C.R.A.Z.Y.
Thank you in advance
