Batman — this very worst film, there’s just nothing here.
Joseph, I agree about Vincent.
Price himself claimed that the film immortalized him.
“Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street — his masterpiece.”
LOL. With all due respect, I’m sorry to laugh but you just made me burst out while I was watching Danny Gokey perform on American idol. It was kind of one of those moments when you’re watching something as equally funny as what you’re reading and both are completely unrelated.
1. Edward Scissorhands
2. Ed Wood
3. Batman
4. Big Fish
I’ve seen most of his films, but these are the only ones I like. I’ll check out Vincent.

TBD – Alice in Wonderland
I won’t include “Nightmare before christmas”, because he was only a producer.

The Ugly

10. Big Fish
11. Sweeney Todd
After his last few films, I have permanently parted ways with Burton. Won’t see Alice in Wonderland. Seemed mildly pathetic that the Museum of Modern Art would give him exhibit space for his doodlings but I guess they know how to draw a crowd and they need to pay the bills for the real exhibits.
1. Batman
2. Sweeney Todd
3. Edward Scissorhands

2. Batman (yeah, I know, sue me!)
3. Edward Scissorhands

… and the rest can be missed. I’ve never understood the praise for Big Fish, rather hum-drum I thought.
beetle juice
batman

everything else is eh…
haven’t seen ed wood
From what I have seen:
1. Ed Wood
2. Vincent
3. Edward Scissorhands
4. Big Fish
5. Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
6. Beetlejuice
7.Corpse Bride
8. Mars Attacks!
9.Sleepy Hollow
10.Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
To be honest, the first three are the only ones I can really make a case for. The rest is just ranking films I don’t care about. Too bad Nightmare doesn’t work because I really needed a strong #11.
Of the ones I’ve seen, these are the good ones:
1. Big Fish (best)
2. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
3. Edward Scissorhands
These are the not-so-good ones:
5. Corpse Bride
4. Sweeny Todd
5. Beetlejuice
6. Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure
7. Batman
8. Alice in Wonderland (worst)
These I havn’t seen:
Frankenweenie
Vincent
Batman Returns
Ed Wood
Mars Attacks!
Sleepy Hollow
Planet of the Apes
Big Fish sucked.
I haven’t seen Vincent and Pee-Wee yet.
1. Edward Scissorhands
2. Ed Wood

4. Frankenweenie
5. Mars Attacks!

6. Sweeney Todd

13. Alice in What the Hell
J. Pomp
What’s your favorite Burton film? What’s your least favorite?
We’ve all seen a ton of his movies; in honor of the release of his latest, let’s rank ’em.
1. Big Fish
2. Ed Wood
3. Edward Scissorhands
Definitely the three best; Scissorhands might deserve 1 or 2.
4. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
5. Beetle Juice
6. Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
These are all solid but have aspects that annoy me. Beetle Juice is indispensable Burton; Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is awesome and wildly underrated but criticisms of Johnny Depp’s Willy Wonka are totally valid (but the supporting cast was superb); Sweeney Todd is sort of Burton’s most serious movie, aside from maybe Ed Wood, but do we want seriousness from Burton?
7. Pee-wee’s Big Adventure
8. Batman Returns
9. Batman
Fun movies. Nothing life changing here, of course, but worthy titles.
10. Sleepy Hollow
11. Mars Attacks!
12. Alice in Wonderland
Different degrees of trashiness. Sleepy Hollow is pretty good, actually, but it could have been a lot more interesting. Mars Attacks! is tacky; at least the camp of Burton’s 80s films was endearing in its awkwardness. Alice in Wonderland is unforgivable.
Haven’t seen Planet of the Apes or Corpse Bride.
