i watched the fourth kind and the film is about aliens abducting people here on earth

i have not seen a film that causes such a sensation through its use of frightening sound from real archive footage and imagery that defies gravity

has anyone seen this film and what was your reaction?

and do u believe :O(

It’s a terrible film. Cheap, gimmicky and tedious.

I thought the positive way of putting gimmicky is formally unique; but I think the going back & forth between the “real” & “fake” footage just takes you out of it. It does have one or two clever sequences, but also some egreguously goofy cheap horror movie crap. Could Will patton have tried harder to remind us he was a horror movie small town cop?

“Real” Abigail Tyler was pretty good. I can’t find who played her, and I’m starting to think she may have been all CG.

I agree, she did a pretty good job. The movie has its moments, but it’s tedious and annoying overall.

i have 2 admit i kept dozing off and contemplated going home 2 sleep :O)

yet what caught my attention were the sensations i have described… and it wasn’t just from being lucky 2 see in the excellent environment of a giant uncrowded theatre late at night near the sub woofer and amongst a truly scared audience that were initially laughing and not taking the film serious

the women in the real life footage was frightening. The movie was even duller than paranormal activity

I can’t believe I actually sat through all of it.
I didn’t feel any sensations while watching it, other than the one that said, “Yo! You gotta take a piss!”
The hypnosis scenes were pretty funny though, I’ll give it that, but I wouldn’t mind never seeing it again.

Actually, I was waiting for “The Fourth Kind” for a long time now and I am particularly fond of movies with alien/UFO theme but…“The Fourth Kind” reminded me of “The Moth Man Prophecies”; I disliked both of the films; although both of them claimed that they were based on real events, they were both far away from being able to make me believe.

After about 15 minutes of this film I had to put it off – I just couldn’t take it anymore. The whole concept is so ill-conceived and terribly executed that it boggles the mind.

First of all Milla Jovovovovich is a horrible actress, and to have to accept her as a psychiatrist requires such a monumental feat of mental gymnastics as to be nigh on impossible.

Secondly, and more importantly the idea of showing us dramatised interview footage with Milla alongside ‘real’ interview footage is completely incomprehensible. If the filmmakers really want to convince us the footage we’re watching is genuine, and they have genuine footage of the real people then why show us Milla at all? Supremely dumb.

“The Fourth Kind” is just plain bad.
“The Mothman Prophecies” is a very underrated film. I consider it to be one of the best thrillers of the decade, specially due to Mark Pellington’s ability to create a tense and textured atmosphere. He also managed to get some nice acting out of Richard Gere.

I thought about seeing it, but never got around to it. it looked a little over-processed to be one of the pseudo-docs or re-telling of those docs. Mothman, on the other hand, was pretty good. I wanted to say this about White Noise from 2005, but it didn’t hold together.

I watched Fourth Kind last night. For me, there’s nothing new in this film. It is a rehash of Freddy Kruger – you will be terrorized in a dream/sleep or in the case of Fourth Kind – under hypnosis. I think the mockumentary presentation of the film is rather convoluted. It’s a meh film for me.
