did anybody else notice that the reference to Sartre’s novel, Nausea, was not mentioned in the video essay that accompanied the film?

the line from the novel is at the beginning and end where Roquentin hears “some of these days, you’ll miss me honey” on a record player.

Well there are a lot of references that are easily missed. “Made inUSA” might in fact be said to be constructed entirely out of references to other films, novels, etc.

But it’s a very precise depiction of the atmosphere growing in and around that time as terroism arose from all amnner of sources. And in this regard the most important corss references are Barbet Scroeder’s “Terror’s Advocate” and Rivette’s “Out 1”
