I actually just went ahead and bought the French DVD, which is regions A and B. It’s beautiful! But that’s cool that’s finally coming out here too. Thanks for letting me know!

Anybody got any idea when Criterion or whoever is going to get this thing on a blu-ray disc that Americans can watch on their American blu-ray players. I mean, the fact that I—an American—want so badly to be able to watch this movie rife with l’antiaméricanisme should say something about how good of a film this is.
I can’t afford a 16mm projector, and I don’t have hundreds (or maybe thousands, I don’t know) of spare dollars or inside sources to find the film print. So if I just get the thing on blu-ray, that would be aces.
