The bastards on this site would rather splutter about Jon and Kate and hipsters and whatever the fuck than pay respect to a dead man. Pity.

Well, I can tell you he will be sorely missed! He was, without a doubt, one great dancer!

As puerile and assholic as Kanye West may be, funny thing is that he always tells the truth as it is. Taylor Swift didn’t deserve that award in a hundred years.

hah, we’re talking “truth” concerning an mtv awards broadcast. music is pretty much the last concern on that show. i listen to enough great music to know that there isn’t some dusty desert out there, where beyonce and gaga snatch up 9 nominations for lack of other talent. martina topley bird, neko case, jenny lewis, lykke li. st. vincent. all great female musicians, who had great videos within the last year. but they would never get nominations “in a hundred years.” it’s just a joke. kanye west’s grabs at attention are jokes.

I’m genuinely sad. Red Dawn, The Outsiders, Point Break, Road House; I grew up with this man. with him goes yet another chunk of my childhood. But even as I age, i still think he was a hell of an actor. No question. But his talent was always overshadowed by his ridiculous movie choices and even more ridiculous hair.

and RIP Zakes Mokae too.

Swayze was a huge figure in pop culture in the ‘80s—the first time I saw him on-screen was in Coppola’s The Outsiders_. He went on to a couple of Reagan-era militant fantasies—_Uncommon Valor and Red Dawn. He starred as a wealthy South Carolinian at the center of the TV miniseries “North and South.” And of course Dirty Dancing and Ghost.

But what about Swayze’s first film, Skatetown, U.S.A. ?

Zakes Mokae too? No way!

Indeed it is; he apparently passed on friday. Do he, Swayze, & Jim Carroll count as three?
