whoah
Holy shit (’scuse my language). I AM a fan of his movies . . . some of them, at least.
what the hell?? this is awful!
Yes, confirmed. Very shocking.

eeeeck. that is awful, very sorry to hear it
I didn’t know he was sad. I would have sent him cookies.
Truly awful.
Fuck. I’m sorry, but I thought this would be a thread saying “HIS MOVIES ARE AWFUL HE’S DEAD TO ME”, but this is…. Unbelievable…
He’s dished out great entertainment that i’ve personally enjoyed (Top Gun is one of my favorite movies ever). I am speechless…. RIP Tony, my prayers go out to his family, brother, and soul.
Very tragic and unexpected. Does anyone know the story behind that faded red (pinkish?) hat he always wears?
Truly shocking. R.I.P. may need to schedule an emergency iewing of “Top Gun.”
@Steve
I’m with you on that. This warrants a blu ray for me.
Kind of makes you step back and realize wealth and success are not guarantees of happiness.
Why suicide? Why a pull a Brody?
What will that mean for Scott Free Productions?
Damn! I know he doesn’t get a lot of love here, but I like “Last Boy Scout” and “Long Kiss Goodnight” and have enjoyed a few others.
And I’ll be really pissed if Ridley follows suit.
Prometheus needs be finished.
RIP
Unbelievably heartbreaking.
According to the report he left a suicide note in his car, so hopefully we’ll have some more info soon. Déjà Vu is probably my favorite of his films.
And it should have been Michael Bay.

oy and ug, it’s too bad
This sucks. Tony Scott made some good movies. Domino is one of my favorites; a very funny and misunderstood film.
Damn, sad news. My condolences to his family and loved ones.
I was always a fan of Spy Game and Enemy of the State. He made a crop of entertaining thrillers over the years, that’s for sure.
Hmm and for what? Sad!
Apparently his favorite film that he directed was True Romance. Mine too. RIP, Tony.
You’re so cool. You’re so cool. You’re so cool.
And Linden for the win.
This is really shocking. One of the few directors in Hollywood that I admire.
RIP Tony.
but Linden, too soon
Wow. I’ve been wanting to see Man on Fire for a while. Guess I’ll make it a priority.
but Linden, too soon
Yeah, I don’t care how good or bad you are as a director, suicide is a heartbreaking thing.
along with M. Mann, was there any other Hollywood director who actually “experimented” with the form of their movies? Farewell Tony Scott, the real man on fire.
This is bizarre. I’ve been casually going through his filmography these last few weeks. I have two Netflix discs currently in my possession: True Romance and Unstoppable.
What a loss. I think he was finally hitting his stride as an artist.
This is very sad news. Not much more to say. I think, in a real way, his films will be missed.

He tragically committed suicide today, very sad. RIP Tony Scott. I wasn’t a fan of his movies, but he was behind some of the most memorable moments in film history.
