“Robocop Remake Cancelled.
The remake of the 1987 sci-fi RoboCop was confirmed today as the latest casualty of the MGM crisis and has been cancelled.
The Wrestler director Darren Aronofsky was due to make the film.
The project was put on hold earlier this year due to financial problems at studio MGM. Any plans to move forward with the movie have now been scrapped altogether.
An insider told the website: “RoboCop is gone. Kaput. Dead. It was one of the first casualties. Its been dangling for so long that Aronofsky has lost interest anyway, I believe. I think we’re all just going to have to be happy with the three RoboCop movies that are out there.”
Good. the only Robocop film they should be making is an official sequel to the first with Verhoeven that ignores the other two pieces of shit. ok, so number 2 wasn’t 100% bad, but MIller is no satirist. in fact, his social satire is pathetic and works on a cartoon level in that film.
