But how is it pronounced?
I’d pronounce it “Scorsezy”, not “Scorseezy”.
Scorsézy
Yeah, I must confess that I’ve made “the big C” mistake a few times in the past. Scorcese just rolls off the keys too easily.
Terrible show, but this should help:
Yes, I think I’m also prone to saying his last name Skor – SAY – see.
Me too.
when I hang out with him, I generally just call him “Mart” . It’s an in-joke we share. No, I don’t want to explain it because it would ruin it.
scow-seh-zea
I thought it was spelt Scor-Zay-Zee.

Mubi members who do not participate in the forum can expect to have their name misspelled, including Skersayshe! :)
“Mubi members who do not participate in the forum can expect to have their name misspelled”
So what happens to the ones who participate more than enough and STILL have their name misspelled, deliberately or not? ;)
@ Dimitris
Can we call you Jimmy?

If only we could get our politicians drunk in public more often in America. :) How entertaining it would be…
Man, I can’t convey my frustration whenever I talk to someone about Scorsese (and I have always pronounced it score-sez-zee) and am always corrected on the pronunciation. Usually I’m just like, “Yeah, I always get that mixed up, thanks for clarifying that for me.”
Good to know, I thought it was spelled ScorCese.
Let’s bump this one too.
Sker-seh-zee is how my hill-billy uncle says it.
thesis: Scorsese’s overratedness is underrated.
antithesis: his underratedness is overrated.
synthesis: Scorsese and all of his films are appropriately rated.
(now someone post the King Missile song and we’re outta here)
