(I was accidentally logged in as someone else… eep.)
Hi! I am completely new to this. But I have written a short screenplay for a high school competition. I didn’t win, but I came really close.
I would love more than anything for it to actually be made, however I do not have the experience, nor do I have the equipment necessary to make it. That’s where you (hopefully) come in!
Here’s an extremely rough synopsis of my screenplay. If you’re interested in filming it, message me, and I’ll send you the script!
“36 year old, father and widower, Rory Lunde, finds a present from his wife. The present, which was hidden under his bed, contained a shiny, metal, mechanical pencil with his name engraved on the side. It was supposed to be an anniversary gift from his wife.
Later on, Rory discovers the power that this pencil gives him. He is able to make anything that he draws become real. But he doesn’t know that there are any consequences. After Rory is aware of the power, he draws a cash register, which contains $3000, in order to pay his rent. Once he goes to pay it, the apartment manager is gone. Rory thinks nothing of it and takes the money for himself. He hears his daughter crying in the next room, and decides to cheer her up by drawing her a TV and gaming system, instead of actually addressing the problem. After he has the TV and gaming system drawn, he goes to tell her. His daughter is gone. No where to be found. Then Rory realizes that for whatever he creates, something else must disappear.
In the end, Rory draws a picture of his daughter and his wife together. Rory disappears.
His daughter and wife are standing around a grave site, which has Rory’s name on it.”
This sounds very interesting!
Here’s an idea: You should make this into a collaborative project on here and have different people interpret your script. That way you can see all the different ways your story could be told. I think it would be an interesting exercise.
here’s my short film if you’re interested…
