Is this a joke? True Blood is the best thing on TV right now. I just watched tonight’s episode and wish the next episode was on right now.
JImW, best thing on what??? I watched the first season. The acting’s good, but the plots are very irksome. Although watching True Blood doesn’t warrant getting hanged, it’s certainly not the best thing on t.v.
Second best, Dexter is number one.

Well I haven’t watched Dexter, so I guess I can’t really say.
How are the plots irksome? I find them very involving, funny, scary, and exciting all at the same time. It keeps a good pace and balance between quality plot development and cheese.
If you’re talking of shows still running, Mad Men is the best thing on tv.
Sadly, I don’t have HBO (yet…), and so, when it comes to me, I’ll always say the best thing on TV is either The Office, or How I Met Your Mother. Sure, they’re sitcoms, but they are very well-made, and very funny to boot. They do the job they were designed to do.
I did, however, catch one episode of True Blood while on vacation at a hotel, and I will disagree with the statement that the acting is great; I kept noticing how fake everything seemed, how the accents sounded so wrong (as if you could tell someone was trying to do the accent, and then failing miserably). I don’t know. It most certainly isn’t a bad show, by any means – it sure seemed intriguing – but I don’t know if it is the greatest show.
And to answer your question: probably not.

Well it seems as if this little phrase about True Blood fans being executed was snuck into Obama’s health care reform bill. People aren’t noticing that.
The condemn me. I’m hooked on True Blood. It is a fantastic show. Are the ratio of negative posts on these boards higher than positive? Amazing all the hate and bashing by people.
I think that it’s a very entertaining show that is useful for passing the time quickly. I was never really bored, and I actually found some scenes to be quite moving.

Very good show. The latest episode was superb, and if True Blood can maintain that level of quality it will be a great show. Godric is boss.
Coolest opening sequence video. Saw two seasons and, for all my impatience with opening credits, could not fast forward or skip watching, almost addictive.

True Blood I kind of gave up on after seeing the first episode.
Maybe it gets better and I should give it another chance, but the first episode had such cheesy over the top dialog and such an annoying sex obsession I just couldn’t take it.
In the first scene, two characters who have nothing to do with the story are driving and the woman randomly reaches into the man’s pants for chrissake.
It’s like they think just because it’s on HBO there has to be fucking in every other scene.
ep. 1 was unbearably cheesy, i couldn’t even make it through to the end of the episode and gave up on the whole show right away. but my friends assured me that it gradually gets better, so i decided to give it another chance. seasons 2 and 3 are quite watchable, actually. and the soundtrack has lots of good music, especially in the closing credits, plus the opening sequence video is just great.
