The long version of this is playing on the Sundance Channel right now.
Yeah, where I am, Time Warner Cable is playing the 3-part miniseries version for free….
I just noticed on Netflix that the miniseries is coming soon to instant viewing.
No really answered the question which version is preferable . I too would like feedback (Without spoilers of course)
I’ve seen the 140 minute version and absolutely loved it. However, I haven’t seen the longer one so I can’t really tell you which one is better, but I did thoroughly enjoy the version I saw. It seemed to be of an appropriate length from what I could gather. The pacing and rhythm of the film is actually extremely well timed, so all of the historical events demonstrated are never dragged out, boring, or out of context, everything seemed to fit into the well-made epic.
OMGosh I cannot wait to see this! Brings back to mind all those Robert Ludlum 80’s thrillers I used to read where Carlos was a main character (The Bourne Identity saga for instance) and others like The Almighty by Irving Wallace (I’m a big fan of 80’s espionage novels). I also very much like Edgar Ramírez. And well, it’s Oliver Assayas so I’m expecting a lot from this film!!!
I am currently getting my hands on the 140 minute version though so it will just have to do.
Happiness.
Netflix put up the date that the miniseries is going to begin streaming. 2/15 it is.
I’d go with the miniseries. It’s a great watch.
Yeah, see the long version if you can.

I’m trying to watch Carlos, but the version they have on IFC on demand seems to be the shorter, 140 minute version. Should I watch that version, or should I wait until the DVD becomes available and I can watch the 5 1/2 hour version?
