Well i think you’ll see us come out of the woodwork soon enough.
I would love to make some films! I hope to do it for a living too someday! I actually have a decent idea or two for a film.
There’s a group on here been established since June 21st 08. Originally called GARAGE, it grew out of a heated debate about how to collaborate and make films using this site and the internet in general as a transmission network. This has evolved into a project called 05:00, which is a work in progress, and a network base. The contributors range from instinctive first shooters to seasoned pros, and we are moving towards a space of arts grants/funding/screenings/installations/web transmission very very fast.
If you want to hook up with us, it’s an open project for anyone on The Auteurs, because this site has drawn creative blood from a very wide slice of society.
the thread in the forum is 00:00>05:00
the first arguments were laid down by me (more of a challenge than a dogme, and it’s an old argument from a very early stage in The Auteurs development, when we were few and fragile) in the thread 2000-2010
the group then moved to its own forum section called GARAGE, which you can find under a tab at the top of the FORUM.
we initially asked that any contributor or would be contributor made a short film under the theme title GEOGRAPHY and uploaded it to The Auteurs direct: the upload page for this is www.theauteurs.com/garage This is still ideally the way it should go, but no one’s enforcing any rules now but the ones for the 05:00 project.
anyway, take a look, if any of it seems good, drop me a message
/T
it’s the first of many projects, and many evolutions
i’ve made some shorts and I am currently writing a feature.
here’s the latest one I’ve completed and just recently was shown in the St.Louis International Film festival

You can see my Profile for a few films I have done. I have not directed my own short in 2 years and am gearing up to make one. So forgive my ‘learning curve’ films. They are what they are. Honing the craft. :P
I’m currently writing and trying to get into film school. Whether or not I get in, I plan to write/direct. It’s a compulsion for me.
I want to make something with people, right now I am playing around with youtube videos to make a mashup film.
here’s an animation short that I like, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXvStbmQmaY
I’ve always wanted to collaborate with an aspiring filmmaker to create some experimental images for my music. Hopefully one day it’ll happen.
I’m working on a new script now and hopefully in a few months will be prepared to collaborate with some folks…but for now I’m in isolation.
M. where can I demo some of your music? I have a DP with access to a Red who is looking for artists to do music videos for.
The best place to start is this site called Script Frenzy, which motivates you to write a feature length film in a month. I’ve been doing that for a few years now. Have not finished filming any, but it is a good excercise, nonetheless.
I studied film in college, and had a few shorts shown at the local art theatre downtown. Haven’t really done anything recently but work on a few ideas and have just written a lot.
Going to take a look at the Script Frenzy site and hopefully get some motivation if I’m actually trying to work on a deadline.
I’d be interested in GARAGE project as well, I may take a look at it once I’m off work.
Oh, sorry Ryan-Script Frenzy is only in April…
Yeah, I didn’t see that this topic was posted 10 Months ago, haha, although I may make it a personal deadline type thing for motivation.
I’m in the middle of working on a short film now. I’m also going to be editing another short film, as well as DP-ing another. I have never (although have almost) worked on a legitimate feature.
adeeze !
I thought since a lot of people here love film, some might actually aspire to make them as well, I being one of them. I thought I’d start this thread not only as a way for myself to meet and connect with people who are interested in pursuing film making either as a hobby or career, but for others as well to connect with each other. Maybe some of you have common goals in what you’d like to do in film, or maybe you’d like to make one just for fun no matter how serious it is. Anyways, I hope this works out at least for others if not for me. I’ll introduce myself in another post, but tonight I’ve got to pack for a trip. Cheers!
