SONG USED IN THE HOUSE BURNING SCENE?

Hi guys, I’ve been driving insane trying to find the song used in the scene with the fire in Terrence Malick’s Badlands:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YH17YH5tI3Y

Some one commented on the video:
*This song is from Carl Orff, the name is ‘Bläserstücke’

Another one from Orff in the movie is ‘Hexen-Einmaleins’ (when the bounty hunters try to catch Kit and Holly)

I guess they are included in the album Musica Poetica*

But I can’t find it, it’s no where to be seen!

PLEASE HELP!

Hmmm…well, Musica Poetica umbrella encompasses 10 albums of material in 2 boxed sets collecting material by Orff and Keetman, so it could be in there.

I can’t find disc 4 with Bläserstücke either, but Gassenhauer can be downloaded as an MP3 for 99cents.

Available at Amazon for $450

Per seller:
Unfortunately, there never was a soundtrack album produced for the Terrence Malick 1973 movie “Badlands”, which lists at the top of its music credits “Musica Poetica – Carl Orff & Gunild Keetman”; so, this set is as close as it gets. In addition to “Gassenhauer”, the haunting main theme bookending the movie, throughout, and at the end (to keep you watching the closing credits), at least 5 other “Badlands” pieces can, however, be found on this 1994 BMG release (RCA Victor Red Seal) 6-CD box set version of the original Orff/Keetman recordings done between 1963 & 1975 on 10 LPs. The others I have found so far are: for Dad’s dog lesson – “Musik zu einem Puppenspiel” (Music for a puppet play) (LP 4 side B trk 10); for Kit’s stockyard job – “Xylophonstucke” (Xylophone pieces) (LP 5 side A trk 3); for the burning house – “Passion” (LP 6 side B trk 8); and, for the bounty hunters’ just deserts – “Hexeneinmaleins” (Witches multiplication table) (LP 10 side B trk 10).

Love the chilly, haunting piece from Carmina Burana used by Pasolini to close SALO, too. Orff’s place in the history of movie music is pretty astonishing, if for the O Fortuna phenomenon alone.

Carmina Burana is one of my favorite pieces ever, and it’s always nice when something other than Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi is used.

This is an excellent LP that I will acquire through my network of record dealers. I then create your new audiophile CD, and send record and CD to you!

Then resell the LP on eBay.

I have the second boxed set, Musica Poetica 6-10 on vinyl…just don’t have a way to transfer to digital file. Wish I’d grab 1-5 when I had my hands on it, but, alas…

Ben, let me borrow disk 4 – I might have a buyer….
I wonder if the album copyright is in the public domain.

Well, don’t buy just yet…it might be on disc 4 of the CD set, but it’s on disc 6 of the LP set.

Mertber, as he is now calling himself, would have to verify the compositions first.

Yeah, I’m curious to do this when I get home.

What that site is doing is smart – they cant sell a dup CD b/c of copyright, so they rip a CD and give it to you with the ALBUM they are selling you.
nice !

Oh, and I bet he will buy the album back too !
