Spidarlings (2012)
Thank you Dennis. I guess every production has it’s share of problems.
Yes, the film is about 80% complete, all we still need to shoot more or less are a few outdoors scenes, some gore FX and the cameos by Bloody F Mess and Toshio Maeda (who are both coming to the UK in October and will be the last scenes we will shoot).
It still is a great project and a wonderful crew and cast! By the end of the day, people like that only harm themselves and their own career. And it is good to get rid of them before greater damage is done!

“Not being the biggest fan of musicals in the world, I love it when their grating self-importance is mercilessly undercut. Spidarlings is a LGBT horror musical from Salem Kapsaski – embracing a modern neon-glo-punk-trash aesthetic that has more to do with Troma, Derek Jarman or John Waters than it does Andrew Lloyd Weber. As if to underline this, they even feature trash icon Lloyd Kaufman in the cast!”

Was a productive and fun day! At one point a mother and her kid showed up and she tried to push her kid in the picture while we were filming – Parents this is NOT how an audition works.

We were filming yesterday with Toshio Maeda (Creator of Urotsukidoji, La Blue Girl)
Our location the Phoenix Artist club ended up accidentally being double booked, as a result they almost didn’t let us in, also the other guys (some Light Technicians) would not shut the hell up. When we told them to be quiet because we are filing they simply barked at us that we should close a curtain and continued making noise.
Other than that the shoot went flawless and Mr Maeda was one of the loveliest people you could encounter.

Yes, he is reading the English translation of Urotsukidoji. Not really playing himself but a strange customer at Juicy Girls were Matilda works.
