Go for it! Mine will (I’m seriously considering this now) be of course experimental, but based on the experience of making Letters for the Ergodic project, I’d find a way to sneak in a little narrative there, a “touch” of narrative, lol!
Cross-pollination between traditional narrative and experimental/avante-garde, how scandalous! (and how attractive) :D
Well what I’ve done up till now has mostly been experimental work. What I showed you is my first go a traditional narrative, stripped of the conventional ways of storytelling. But I’ve already been constructing a series of images that essentially carry an essential theme throughout. I’ve designed it as an installation piece, but it may end up something else. I’ll just have to see what happens.
Cool!!! I can’t wait to see what happens!
Technically a little over 1 minute, but what the hell:
Over a minute. A piece of a larger work I’m working on.
edit – make sure to watch it in hd please.
I’m going to try to get back on these in December, after NaNoWriMo and after my Ergodic Cinema piece should be fully done.

So uh… this thread badly needed a revival.
Here:
Tommy, can’t wait to see the full piece from the short excerpt you included above! :D
Yeah well I can’t either, ha. Thats scene was a nightmare for some reason. That same scene isn’t even in the film anymore.
The sound in this last one you did is great. It works well against the images.
Thanks! :D
What happened with that scene? It looked so clean and peaceful…
I think that was the problem. I felt too distant from her. I loved that scene, but I shot part of it from a different angle and combined some of it with another scene. It was too many short one minute scenes one after another. Contextually that is an important scene, and I needed more given that there is no sound. I think it works out better now though. Or maybe I’m just crazy.
You’re just crazy. lol Just kidding. I’m really the one who is crazy.
ha, no you’re not, silly. For every one supposed crazy person, there’s more than likely a dozen actual crazies around here.
Ya never know how far from the edge you really are, Tommy… (meaning me)
Haha!
^ nice! :D
So I haven’t labeled this as STL, but it is close to 1 minute in length, so I thought I’d post it here:
the colors are pretty incredible
Thank you! I love color. :D
Your turn to post, bro!
Or someone else… DiB?… DiB, are you there?…. STL Video calling!
I’ll come up with something. Maybe later tonight. There’s something I’ve been wanting to try out.
Cool! Looking forward to it!
Bump!
I just caught up with these – and they’re awesome!! I love your use of sound, Odi! And I really enjoyed that one with the utensils, Tommy!
Anyway, I just made something that’s uploading now, so I’ll post it in like half an hour. :)
Here it is! It’s longer than a minute… I got a little bit carried away and couldn’t stop.
haha! utterly brilliant doofu. for a minute i was afraid it was gonna be inappropriate. thanks for saving us that embarrassment. kinda reminded me of michelangelo’s pieta on the edge of the tub there
wow, i also love the utensils, tommy! there’s something so tragic about them! nice colors, odi, and love the effects in the middle, carousel music and kids laughing xD good work everyone! let’s make more!!
DFFOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Thanks for adding to this thread!!!!! YAAAAAYYYYY!!!!
Nice! I’ve been meaning to get back into this. I’ve been working on expanding my technical abilities so hopefully I can put them to good use soon.

That’d be pretty cool. I’ve been thinking of doing something like that. A short serialized narrative of sorts would be a neat project.
