He has been falling out of favor with me to be honest. Also (Sekzee) did you recently watch Throne of Blood? I would gather as much, then again it could be wrong.

I think Ebert is a great writer, so I love reading his reviews whether they be good or bad.

Ben, yes I just watched Throne of Blood today :) Its enthralling. A top 3 Kurosawa film for me.

It is fantastic isn’t it? It’s amazing how well Kurosawa transferred it from Scotland to Japan. Granted I have yet to read the source material but I don’t think it could be improved upon. The final scene with the arrows is executed beautifully. Ebert is a fantastic writer. I agree with you Drew, I simply can’t stop making visit to his website. His Great Movies are fantastic. He has however in the last three weeks given a four star review every week. He gets more slack because he is getting on with age. They may indeed be four star movies I just don’t need to run out and see every movie he gives four stars to. Then again I can be sure that Herzog’s Bad Lieutenant will never surface here in Montana and neither will Precious. I think there is a better chance for Precious but I can’t be entirely sure. We did however, get New Moon.

I don’t really read reviews for recommendations, so Ebert is the perfect guy for me.

I frequently visit his website, and also love watching the old Siskel and Ebert videos.

Kurosawa is genius. I have read Macbeth and I have to say that I prefer Throne of Blood. Sure, Macbeth is more challenging but Kurosawa is able to take Shakespeare and strip it down to its most basic themes and images and somehow its just as compelling. The final scene is actually very different and again I prefer the way Kurosawa ended the film.

Urgh I have a ton of homework, but my grandma is sleeping over (due to my dad’s 50th bday party being tomorrow), and she keeps interrupting me.
