Really, cause I think Mule Variations and Bone Machine sound a lot alike, especially production and percussion-wise. Yeah, Hold On is great, but Come On Up To The House is probably my favorite from the record, though I tend to be a fan of the rural ballads. Also, What’s He Building is one of my favorite spoken-words… so I guess it’s hard to describe why i like it better than say Alice or Blood Money, which continue the same musical trends… wow, it’s way too late to even be thinking about this right now. Just personal preference, I guess. I like Abbey Road more than Sgt. Pepper, too.
Another contribution for the non sequitur thread. Here’s an old video of an Obama supporter with too much time on his hands:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UMxJb4FsJ4
You may note that he has the same name as me but that’s merely a coincidence. I do not know this smart, funny, dare I say dashing, man at all. I do not necessarily agree with his politics or his song. I claim plausible deniablility for both. And to the one, possibility two people who actually click on the above link, enjoy.
Archiving the faux Criterion covers in our gallery is going to take longer than expected. Pewp. I can’t believe I just went through exactly 446 of these things, not including my own.

Hahahaha. I read every post, I’d list my favorites in order but…
I want to post top 10 fake criterion covers…and yes Samantha I went through all the covers over the weekend and it was a pain…
@Filmy Andy Good idea! Just a small request, if you do make a top ten fake Criterion covers thread (is that what you were talking about?), could you tell people to make text-only lists? It’d be easier to load/read through.
I was trying to put my list here rather than a new thread…and yes I am all for text and links….
Okay, coolies. I thought you might have meant here. I need to make a list too.

A question to all the posters with the nom-de-plumes (pardon my Frecnh) where did you derive your screen names from? I’ll start off.
AC Milan is my undisputed club futbol team. AC Milan are nicknamed I Rossoneri in Italy because of their home strip, which is red and black vertical stripes. Red in italian is rosso while black is nero. Or neri since it is plural. Therefore, Rossoneri.
re: Daniel Plainview: Nailed it, Samantha.
Why do you think people are so quick to make lists? (Answers in list format more than welcome.) It’s like this universal skill we all have…Is their an art to making them? Or at least a Science?
I find lists useful for stuff like organizing errands or chores and then when it comes to outlining but they do feel anemic and reductive and too transient to really convey meaningful meaning.
Connor, I think we’re just always ready to talk about ourselves. We’re so vain, we probably think this thread is about us.
Rossoneri Fan, my u/n is my real name, but if I had it to do over again, I’d call myself Cissie Colpitts. Google it.
Samantha, would you be Cissie Colpitts 1, 2, or 3?

…Fitzsy, not gonna lie—Mule Variations is my LEAST favorite Tom Waits albums. since you’re a fan i will axe you—why does everyone else like it so much? the only song on there i care to hear is Hold On. am i missing something, or is it a simple matter of taste? normally i wouldn’t think twice about it, but its listed/considered as a great album by more people than most of his other albums.
