Man, I read Stanislaw Lem’s Fiasco and was like, “This. This is totally what the difficulty is… improbabilities like compound interest. This this this.” Man was it good.

Vinyl is making a comeback! Album art, please!!! Lyrics, inserts, all that stuff — please! :D
Yes. My father was excited as well.
Not that I’m implying anything!
^Absofuckinglutely!
YAAAAAAY! I’ve been talking about busting out our old record player for months, because we still have vinyl, and now well now, no excuses!!!
Hopefully they’ll start making brand new players as well . . . . .
Have they stopped production of record players?
Even though records have been still produced for some releases before, I assumed they had if only because there are a fair amount of used ones available. But it would be nice to get a brand new one, I’ve had a record I’ve been wanting to play for aaaaaaaaaaages.
Record players have always continued to be made. Amazon alone lists fifty. Club DJs have used them all along. And I’m with Odi, I have always loved looking at the album art while listening to the music. Listening on an IPod just doesn’t compare. Don’t get me started.
Damn, I’m lazier than even I thought . . . . .
Way to go, Volupte! Let’s hope that the art of album covers gets revived and sticks around!
Hello?
Vinyl has been having a comeback since it’s been in decline. It’s my feeling that Murder by Death’s model of distribution, printing records, CDs, and hosting charged online downloads, is the way for most bands nowadays to push their own product without requirement from the record companies. Since consumers have their own relationship to music, yes, some people prefer sitting around listening to their print degrade while looking at big bulky inserts like in the good-old days. :) I’ll never understand vinyl love, really, but if I were in a band I’d print it.

Hi Mubians,
I’m going to quit the forum for a while. It’s beginning to feel like a waste of time and a crutch. You’re great people, thanks for the laughs. :)
Welcome.

.
I just got back from quitting the forum for a while.
Anne Hathaway rapping. Too funny.
Why did the Notebook care to write down a Golubeva and Ruiz obituary but completely forgot about Kakogiannis?
Perhaps MUBI needs to hire more efficient and objective correspondents or it should probably hire people like me who would have written about Kakogiannis…
this looks as good as a Ghost Rider 2 trailer can look:
OH MY FUCKING GOD I FOUND TAQUITOS!
Om nom nom on the epic taquitos. MMMMmmm God I had no idea how much I missed taquitos. These are delicious fucking taquitos.

I’ve only seen taquitos at gas stations on those roller grill things. I got one once. It was hard and gross as shit. It’s not from a gas station is it?
Woah. Is this thing still on?
“I’ve only seen taquitos at gas stations on those roller grill things. I got one once. It was hard and gross as shit. It’s not from a gas station is it?”
Oh dear lord, nobody eats gas station Mexican food, are you nuts?

So the past two days I started looking more into my post-this-job next job step, and was starting to feel overwhelmed as all job hunts start out, and out of nowhere I got a message from a producer I know back home with the offer for a freelance gig. Since I am not home I may be unable to do it, but with the magic of the Internet it is within the realm of possibility.
In the meantime, that’s a good sign, right? I’m feeling pretty good about that.

It is an excellent sign. Congrats.
For UK people, what will be a good amount of money to have with me for undergrad fresher’s week? I’m heading up in late September, so I just want to make sure I’m ready for it. I won’t need to pay upfront for meals, so that isn’t a worry. How much booze would the average History student buy in that week?

I’m not big into sci fi, but I am disappointed that there’s no Lem. I’ve only had the chance to read The Futurological Congress and loved it, but I do know he’s pretty well regarded. It is a solid top 20 or so, although not in that particular order.
