Does anyone have a list of directors who were also artists in other disciplines like Pasolini or Lynch?
Yeah, I went to the Mutter Museum in 03’. So I was going into the seventh grade.
They had weird shit there. They had a man who had a tumor come out of his head. He was known as the unicorn man. I’ll never forget the bloated baby with a swollen backside.
A true house of horrors.
Malik, that’d make a great list.
Anyone?…
I think there was a thread about it earlier. But I believe that was simply about painters. You don’t want that do you?
There were Akira Kurosawa drawings in it.
“I’d be interested to read it, but I get through books slowly and I’m somewhere toward the beginning of Infinite Jest right now, so… :)”
The Hunger Game books are a breeze to read so I would recommend them, but I cannot discourage you from reading Infinite Jest, no matter how slow you read! That book is crazy in so many ways.

NA is a fucking beast.
I can’t take this pressure pressure pressure…
‘Nothing’ is one of my favorite songs ever =)
Definitely. It’s up there for me. Would have loved to see one of their shows when they first came around. Bad Brains too.
yeah, that woulda been something. my friend was at the touch n go 25th anniversary show, and they played. not sure what the lineup was, but i know john brannon was there.
They play every now and then from what I’ve heard. But he has hair and I think that’d be weird.
you ever hear the laughing hyenas? brannons post-NA band? they were a lot different.
haha, yeah

and even longer hair in laughing hyenas

I’ve heard of them, but never listened to them. I need something new to listen too so I might download some stuff.
the earlier stuff is still pretty punk and hardcore influenced, with a bit of blues. But by their last one, “Hard Times”, they were completely different. sorta bad seeds, howlin wolf, stooges, exile-era stones sounding. i used to like that one, but haven’t heard it in ages. i’m tempted to go dig it outta my records and put it on right now though
How does your income compare to the world?
FYI, I gave up a wage 133% the US average and 294% the world average because I was lonely and bored.
:)

I am at 61% of the US average, and embarrassingly high on the World average.
To think that I am trying to get more money…
It sucks that the world average is so low ( especially considering that the lowest most impoverished nations are cut out of the average) but there’s nothing embarrassing about making higher than it. This is personal income, not a measurement of how much of that income is given to charities, or invested, or even what is taxed at whichever income level.

Infinite Jest hurts my brain, in a good way. :)
Can someone tell me how to post a pic?
nevermind. it’s not going to work
Thanks for the link, Polaris! It’s an interesting page!
Why do people keep bumping threads from three years ago? Where are they even finding them?
