^ wow…
Man, do I love Katharine Hepburn!
It seems this lawsuit isn’t about the fact the stock dropped, the lawsuit is about whether Facebook gave secret lower revenue projections to JP Morgan Stanley and told them only to relay this information to preferred clients.
That sounds quite illegal but incredibly hard to prove, since they also released a public lower revenue projection days before the IPO that they can point to as a reason for anything suspicious firms may have done in the interim. And anyone who could actually prove it true has to break nondisclosure agreements to do so.
Parents making their kids post embarrassing things on social media as punishment? They’re actually learning something. (Although, using social humiliation as a weapon could backfire greatly)
Good morning.
I’ll ask again, as we had a bit of a derailment yesterday (LOL @ Giada).
One of the films in the Frampton set I bought is an answer to Brakhage’s The Act of Seeing with Ones Own Eyes, except with animals.
What kind of film am I expecting here?
Is it something I shouldn’t watch with the family around?
must… resist… urge to go back to talking about older men!!
but, no, I haven’t seen that film, Ben – have you watched Zorn’s Lemma yet, though?
No, I’m saving it for my trip up to the family condo for Memorial day. (Mom wants everyone to be together, as moms do)
We inherited a small condo from my grandparents. Small, nice and quiet.
It happens to be in the same town were one of Spielberg’s producers lives!
Anyway, I was planning on watching them at that time.
I just don’t want to be watching one where a cow is being dissected in a graphic manner you know?
At least with them around?
Yeah, although is your family into avant-garde stuff at all? Are they gonna be watching them with you, or will they just be around?
I haven’t seen any of Frampton’s films, but being that they’re experimental I wouldn’t advise family to be around unless they like avante-garde and are prepared for anything.
My mother really likes Werner Herzog actually, she watched Aguirre, the Wrath of God with me and loved it. She also watched a great deal of Fanny and Alexander with me.
But Avant Garde?
I haven’t watched any such thing with them.
I would imagine she would get confused.
WHAT ARE YOU WATCHING BENJAMIN? I DON’T GET IT. WHY IS IT THIS WAY? WHY ARE YOU WATCHING THIS?
You know, even at twenty one my mother asks these questions when I’m around.
Dude, your mother will be asking you this well into middle age. I guarantee it.
Also, Aguirre and Fanny & Alexander are not avante garde. No comparison.
Well, of the two I’ve seen, Zorns Lemma and Critical Mass are both acceptable for family viewing. However, Critical Mass has some bad language though. Zorns Lemma is mostly silent, so I’m not sure if I would recommend watching it if there’s a bunch of other stuff going on. I think it’s best for a dark room when you can totally focus on it, because it really draws you in, but it would be pretty easy to get distracted from it.
My family is bad language.
WHERE THE FUCK IS MY “X”?
WHO THE FUCK DID “Y”
WHAT IS THIS SHIT?
I can always bring headphones.
lol fair enough – I have an 8-year old sister, and my family doesn’t really use bad language around each other anyway.
Watch Zorns Lemma late at night after everyone else has gone to sleep!
Ever wonder where I get my sense of humor?
My father.
Yeah.
^ Lol – your poor mom!
:O Some people I know who have a band had their album reviewed on Pitchfork today!! Everybody’s successful except for me!
Oh well, at least it got a bad review….
@ DFFOO Reptar? I saw them in some raggedy ass venue in Athens last year with a few friends. It was pretty fun, bummer to see them get a 3 (but I havent listened to the album so maybe it does suck).
^ Yeah I haven’t listened to it either – I really liked one of the guys in that band. I just feel bad about myself cause I’ll never amount to nuthin’!
I just feel bad about myself cause I’ll never amount to nuthin’!
What?? Is your life then over in your ’20s? Wow. Talk about cutting yourself off prematurely…
For DFFOO:
Lol I’m mostly joking – but it does make me feel kind of bad when there are people who are pretty much my age doing awesome things – but, hey, I never wanted to be a famous artist anyway.
This song turned me off of that aspiration! (Again, semi-jokingly – I didn’t want to be a famous artist before I even heard that song)

You know what? I’d rather be an older person with more depth under my belt than become famous early in life and… peter… out….
who said you can’t do awesome and creative things and not have the desire to be famous?
also, great burritos video odi =)
All I want is to have grandkids someday.
i get what you’re sayin though dffoo, i have friends/peers who’ve done awesome things, some have even become famous… and you feel almost competitive. nothin wrong with some healthy competition to get you goin’ though =)

Awesome.
^ i want those!
