I just finished Season 3 of Breaking Bad, and I gotta say that it is addictive as…Blue Ice? I’m sure that’s already been said. Anyway, this is pretty new for me as I almost never watch TV. The only other show I’ve even attempted to see in its entirety is Twin Peaks. There are times when I feel like Breaking Bad really drags its heels because it has to fill a certain quota (“The Fly”), but on the whole it’s exhilarating. Shot for shot, though, I’ve never thought of it as great cinema. On that level it seems a bit pedestrian to me. But what it lacks in filmmaking prowess, it more than makes up for in juicy story lines.

Also, Walter is a prick, and he has been so since Season 1, Episode 1. Anyone who confuses him for a good guy is getting too high off the violence, excitement, and power that he displays. What is interesting to me is how once he starts he can’t stop, even if he wanted to. Jesse, on the other hand, is far more sympathetic in my opinion. Hank, especially in the first two seasons, is a hilarious pleasure to watch (things get a big darker for him).

My wife and I are thinking about having children of our own. If we have a boy, I suggest we name him Walter Jr.

The only one I’ve seen is The Flame and the Arrow. While that movie is excellent, I can’t help but agree with Curtis here.

Just for the record, I for sure would have said The Tenth Victim (it’s in my watchlist). Hot damn, that trailer.

Sorry to be that guy, but mushrooms aren’t plants, Curtis… they’re fungi!

And Dude – have you really read all of STL!???

If we want to watch plants attacking, we should just watch The Happening, right?

^ No, watch The Ruins… it’s much better!

tomas.roges

Eww, they’re both terrible.

Lol I really liked The Ruins… maybe cause my expectations were really really low. But I thought it was surprisingly effective!

“Day of the Triffids”

As for “The Tenth Victim”, I’ve wanted to see it for a while, and looked for it here after seeing “Hunger Games”.
I was trying to think of as many “Dangerous Game” movies as I could. Dig Andress.

People confuse Walter for a good guy because before his cancer he’s so resigned to his boring life he’s had no opportunity to be otherwise.

He’s got the same addiction as klepromaniacs, but it’s so wrapped up in his ‘chem genius’ penis size that instead of stealing he has to manufacture drugs.

I just watched The Blair Witch Project. Color me terrified O_O

It doesn’t help that spiders were crawling in my hair the whole time. My fucking basement is breeding them….

ruby stevens

haha are u serious? ^ i saw that at the cinema back in the day and it creeped me out good. but i think the marketing campaign was actually scarier than the film lol

LoverofLeCinema

@Ruby

I saw no marketing whatsoever for Blair Witch going into it. But I have seen it parodied countless times, which surprisingly didn’t dull the scary effect.

Am I serious about the spiders? Unfortunately, yes. And I have curly hair to begin with so…

ruby stevens

it had one of the first viral marketing campaigns i believe. many people were convinced it was a true story! of course now it’s been done to death but it was pretty effective at the time. also curly hair rulez

LoverofLeCinema

I wonder how I’d look with straight hair… I sort of like my curls.

ruby stevens

and for those keeping score mushroom people was pretty silly. surprise! :P

lecinema i love my curls but it took years. humidity is the worst. part of the reason i live in the desert
