I’m fine, thanks.
and btw (stop lookin’ down at me) ^
Whoa. Gettin’ some of the old-tyme StL!ers in here.
Bean, get off the floor, man!
Any STLers watching the Doctor Who marathon leading to the new episode tonight? (in the States) i know it already premiered across the pond
I’ve never seen a single ep.
Ditto.
Am actually trying to figure out what film to (re)watch tonight.
Hi Samantha. How are you?
I try to rewatch a movie every week, even ones I didnt love.
I watched 5 episodes of Doctor Who… I’m thinking about just skipping to the newer episodes.
My mom keeps hanging old baby photos of me around the house… They’re making me super depressed…
Season finale of Breaking Bad tomorrow!
Breaking Bad season is only eight episodes long this time? I thought it was a 13 episode per season show.
Edit: Oohh, I get it. They’re pulling a Sopranos and pretending that two shorter seasons spread out over a year constitute one longer season. Not buying it. ;)
Ha, I didn’t realize the Sopranos did that too. It’s kind of a dirty trick.
troma has a youtube channel! get yr freak on
also i notice an astonishing lack of cats in this thread lately and i feel i must rectify this situation
@ruby: I know! I’m planning to watch Killer Condom sometime soon.
Moar catz:
I like moviez. Do you like moviez?

I think I like movies…
Is that your collection? Nice
Your collection is sexy

it’s labor day
this socialist holiday will probably be banned soon so enjoy it while u can
^ “right-to-work” unlivable wage slaves day.
Don’t right to work laws exist so unions can’t bully workers into paying union dues? They don’t prevent anyone from joining a union, they just prevent unions from operating like cartels and creating labor monopolies of their own.
Anyway, the whole Mythology of America is about building things up from scratch by the sweat of your brow, and the only place with more labor protection laws in the world without the government explicitly taking over industry is Europe. And in case you recall how strongly people reacted against that guy in Wisconsin who tried to prevent government workers from forming unions, I don’t see any kind of ‘Anti Labor Day’ reaction coming any time soon.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to continue to enjoy not being at work.
right-to-work laws effectively broke the unions here. we lose ground at every single negotiation now. we haven’t had a pay raise in over 3 years, have lost most of our paid holidays and they’re inching toward forcing us to pay for our health insurance too. union dues are a small price for a union that actually works. labor day is no longer a paid holiday here (except management of course). it’s been badly misinterpreted i feel. that’s right, i just got home from work Ծ_Ծ

Michael Clarke Duncan has died. Well, that was unexpected…
people told me i was crazy for joining the union since they have to represent us anyway. then they bitch and complain when we don’t make progress. but i joined out of principle. i still believe in the power of unions
“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it”
I definitely believe in the power of unions. If it weren’t for unions we’d still have sixty hour work weeks in unsafe conditions with no vacations.
But I don’t believe in the right of unions to coerce people into joining them. I believe in the right to freely enter contracts, whether that contract is part of the union or not.
so when things get bad enough they will choose to join, providing unions haven’t been outlawed completely by then. everyone knows corporations control our congresspeople. and we’ll be back to the bad old days

you’re probably aware that 44 striking miners were killed in south africa last month
anyway i don’t want to fight, i want to watch bill douglas’ comrades

never forget!! ok my leftist rant is over….for now
I’m curious – may I ask where you work, Ruby?
well it certainly isn’t a porsche dealership doofu. and i don’t believe i’ve ever known anyone who owned one
i plan to stay away from here for awhile. this place is profoundly dull lately and that only leads me to make trouble

aloha
“I definitely believe in the power of unions. If it weren’t for unions we’d still have sixty hour work weeks in unsafe conditions with no vacations.”
Yes, without unions everyone would work in the state of Texas.
“But I don’t believe in the right of unions to coerce people into joining them.”
Like corporate interests coercing state governments to accept unsafe work conditions and low wages for massive financial kickbacks (ah, Capitalism)…
Where was the contract I freely entered into there?
House of Leaves
Hullo, Sam. Things is good?
