you should see Lumiere. it features a similar challenge.
thanks francisco, what is Lumiere?
I think i remember this story correctly. Celebrating 100 years of cinema, a bunch of directors were asked to make a short with the same camera used by the Lumiere brothers. No editing or sync sound. Nothing longer than a minute. If you search the YouTube user super8homevideo he has posted all of them for viewing. Some are really fascinating.
Lynch’s Lumiere piece is brilliant.

^I made a documentary about Cindy Sherman that won best costuming at that festival. All in-camera editing. Activities like this are great for practicing set-ups and coordination one typically does not gain the discipline for in this DV world.

Hmm, looks like deadline won’t work for me. But I’m still going to do it, I produced a short in exchange for a nice beaulieu super 8 crystal sync and I’ve yet to use it. I’ve been doing so much feature length stuff It’d be nice to be “constricted” to 2.5mins. Great idea either way!
You should watch Lumiere. Pronto.
Lumiere is legendary for sure
