I either posted this one too late at night or no one cares about it. I’m replying to give it one last try. I’d really like to hear some other opinions positive or negative..
I rented it a couple of weeks ago. I almost turned it off about fifteen minutes in, but I hung in there and the film eventually presented some truly memorable scenes. Overall, though, I’m just not that into these kinds of movies so it’s hard to speak about it objectively. I think if you’re into stuff like Sin City, then Sukiyaki Western Django will probably interest you.
There were some good performances and the art direction was really cool. I just think there was too little substance for the movie to be worth watching ever again. As it is, I had my laptop open for most of the second and third act. Kinda boring.
Oh, and Tarantino’s cameo was obnoxious.
Yeah, I didn’t like Tarantino at all.
Miike’s worse film, and he’s got some turkeys.
I enjoyed it and agree that Tarantino is worthless in the film. Miike has done better though.

How did you feel about this film? I was pleasantly surprised by it. I think it was a great artistic vision Miike had and pulled it of in a pristine fashion. I loved how he paid homage to “Django” and tied his film into it’s story. There were some small thing’s that bothered me about the film like the characters having piercings. I also would like to have seen Franco Nero in Tarantino’s role. Overall I thought this was something new and refreshing to see and was very impressed with the directing. Just wanted to see what anyone else thought that may have given this film a chance. It really wasn’t bad at all in my opinion. Maybe it was my love for Italian westerns playing in it’s favor though.
